AI Patent Assistant That Knows the Page You're On

Counsel asking an AI patent assistant about "this patent" or "these results" needs it to know which patent and which results are open. ArcPrime's assistant reads the page counsel is working on, including the record, the part of it in view, the current selection and any filters. Its answers start from that context, and when a request needs more than the page holds, the assistant can draw on data from elsewhere in ArcPrime.

ArcPrime is the AI native IP Management System covering the full patent lifecycle in one platform, from invention disclosure to enforcement.

Can an AI assistant answer questions about the patent on screen?

ArcPrime's assistant knows which patent is open and which part of the record is in view, whether that is the claims, the prosecution history, the amendments or the research. Counsel can refer to "this patent" or "these claims" without identifying the patent by number or pasting its text into the conversation.

Asked "what am I looking at?", the assistant names the record, the section counsel is reading, and any selection or filter set in place. That reply is a quick way to confirm the assistant has the right context before a longer request goes in.

What do "this" and "these" mean to the assistant?

Because the page passes along its filters, its search query and the current selection, "this" and "these" mean the view counsel has already set up. Counsel builds that view and the assistant reads every request against it. A later question works from the same filtered results.

On search results, "these results" means the list on screen, with its query, scope and filters. The patent list and the invention disclosure list carry their filters and search into the conversation the same way. With a single disclosure open, "this disclosure" is the one counsel is reviewing.

On an office action response, the assistant knows which version counsel has selected in its version history. Any reference to "this version" then means the selected version.

What happens when counsel changes the selection partway through a conversation?

The assistant follows the change and works from the new selection from that point on. Adding a filter to search results in the middle of an exchange narrows what "these results" covers, while selecting a different version of an office action response moves the conversation to that version.

Which questions can draw on the rest of ArcPrime?

On pages such as a continuation recommendation or the budget page, the AI patent assistant can also answer with data the page itself does not show. On a continuation recommendation, counsel can ask the assistant to find claims across the portfolio that are similar to the proposed ones.

From the budget page, counsel can ask what pruning a set of patent families would do to next year's spend. How ArcPrime projects next year's spend is covered in patent budget forecasting.
