Foreign patent prosecution documents on a European patent case, showing a focused list of EPO office actions, replies and amendments

ArcPrime brings each office's documents onto a European, Chinese, Japanese or Korean case as the case is added or updated. The files for foreign patent prosecution then sit in the same system as the USPTO file histories. On European cases a focused view lists the office actions, replies and amendments and leaves routine notices out.

ArcPrime is the AI native IP Management System covering the full patent lifecycle in one platform, from invention disclosure to enforcement.

How do you track office actions from the EPO, CNIPA, JPO and KIPO?

ArcPrime tracks office actions from the EPO, CNIPA, JPO and KIPO by drawing each office's documents from the USPTO's Global Dossier onto the matching case.

Where an office makes a document available, counsel can download the document itself from the case, whether it is an office action, a communication or an applicant reply. ArcPrime shows CNIPA, JPO and KIPO documents as each office issued them, mostly in Chinese, Japanese or Korean.

What does the focused view show on a European case?

On a European case, the focused view shows the documents that set a deadline or change the claims and keeps inventor, publication and renewal fee notices off the list.

From the EPO, the list includes the examining division's communications, the Rule 161/162 communication, the Rule 71(3) intention to grant and the summons to oral proceedings, along with the decisions issued on the case. From the applicant, the focused view carries replies and amendments together with the claims, description, drawings and abstract.

Which foreign cases get office documents in ArcPrime?

Office documents reach European cases and their national validations, along with Chinese, Japanese and Korean cases whether they entered the national phase from a PCT application or were filed with a Paris Convention priority claim.

A national validation of a granted European patent shows the documents of its parent EP case. Where ArcPrime has no document source, as with German and UK national cases, the case shows its recorded legal events.
